And this is also all about Zachary Levi & Yvonne Strahovski and anything that interest me.....
Wow, Ms. Shin really has a keen eye. You really look like an Archaeopter–
Stop talking about the Archaeopteryx!
I have feelings for you, Ms. Shin. And I won’t give up. If you reject me, I’ll ask you out again and again. Until you finally like me back.
Why do you keep making it so hard for me? Why do you keep being nice to me and make me think about you? You make me wonder if it really might work out, even though I know that it never could. Stop liking me. Stop trying to get close to me.
What you’re worried about will never happen. I promise. So stay by my side.

@sherylordonez You put my thoughts into words. I couldn’t get him, it’s like he was hiding something beneath his “fool” persona.
Yes, that was one of my guesses, that Ji Soo’s On Dal only pretended to be a fool. That he had some big plans to avenge the death of his father.
It would have been interesting to see how Ji Soo was going to take this character further on, but that would be the opposite of what the drama is about, if I understand the premises correctly. On Dal was supposed to be just like you describe it, child-like, sincere and innocent, with a glimpse of a great man that he can be.
Thus, I think Na In-woo nails the character down. Yes, I think he owns the character.

Anonymous asked:
Are you still watching river where the moon rises? I was going to wait until it was complete to watch, but then all the shit happend... glad they changed the lead, now i'm waiting for them to reshot the first eps. But... is it good? I like In woo, but i don't think hes good enough in face expresions to play a dumb-actualy-playing-dumb-but-smart-af character. Kang Tae Oh would have been just perfect for it. That man's delivery in tale of nokdu was flawless... so, how is it? hahaha love u<3 kisses
Hi Nonnie!
Yes…I’m still watching River. Is it good? Eh…it’s interesting and the pacing is actually pretty decent but it’s not a show I’m on the edge of my seat to find out what happens each week.
Here’s where I’m at with it.
In my opinion, On Dal was JS’s best role to date. He’s got a great screen presence and he shined in River. How On Dal was written - and what he was playing excellently - was a very smart and calculating man hiding beneath the facade of a fool. On Dal is playing a part in order to protect his village and keep a promise to his father. JS brought that duality out several times in the first six episodes through very subtle expressions.
The way he played a boisterous himbo matched well with Ga Jin’s more reserved and serious character. He did all of the heavy lifting in the first episodes to showcase the complexity of their backstory and help Ga Jin work through the issues of being torn between being a princess who wants to live a normal life but is riddled with guilt over the fact her father was the cause of the General’s death as well as the slaughter of On Dal’s people. The two actors played off each other so well and their chemistry was great.
I have to give credit to Na In Woo for basically stepping in and saving the production. Dude is a hero for that.
However, he’s playing On Dal as more of a fool thrust into a situation where he has to step up rather than the General’s son who has always harbored the desire to fight but pushed down his anger for the good of the people. At the time In Woo stepped in to filming, the story had shifted to On Dal - his grappling with being the General’s son, what the Sunno Tribe needs and his love for Ga Jin complicating everything. That’s a lot of major acting that has to be done with all of those issues but, bless him, In Woo just doesn’t have it in him to convey those complex emotions.
It doesn’t help that Kim So Hyun is playing a lot of her character very close to the vest. She’s very reserved and serious so she needs someone to not only match her in emotional moments, but be the goofy himbo to her serious and thoughtful princess.
I know a lot of people really like Na In Woo but as much as I appreciate him stepping in to the role at literally a moments notice and working his ass off to try and make it work, he really is just a fill in for me. He’s honestly gotten better, I think, and I can really see him trying…but he just doesn’t quite do it for me.
This picture kind of encapsulates my thoughts on his acting:
The side couple has more chemistry than the main OTP at this point and I’m sure many people are still watching just for them.
So…those are my thoughts on the show. What was one of my most anticipated dramas is now one I’m slogging through just to see how it plays out. It makes me pretty sad because I was 100% on board with the first six episodes.
Thanks for checking in, Nonnie. xoxo
InWoo is the perfect Ondal he nailed it, JiSoo played Ondal as if he knew he will do great and become a hero that is why the cockyness in the acting, he is playing the character pretending to be a fool but the real ondal is a fool which Na Inwoo nailed at, he is the reluctant hero unlike jisoo who is like waiting for the right hence inwoo interpretation of ondal is much perfect, more warmth, innocent and pure like what was in the novel, he understood who is ondal unlike jisoo, aside from the fact i cringed at his romantic scene with kim so hyun now i know why… The guy is a bully.. I have a bad vibes around him and his too confident style..
I am glad knetz loving na inwoo interpretation of Ondal than Jisoo hence rhe Baeksang nomination for Inwoo!
